LEAD (Language-Based Education and Adaptive Development) is a specialized program within the district’s continuum of services that supports students with significant communication, adaptive, behavioral, and academic needs. Through highly structured, individualized instruction, LEAD focuses on building functional communication, increasing independence, and developing the academic, social, and daily living skills students need to access learning and participate more fully in school and life.
LEAD provides a structured, supportive environment where each student’s strengths and needs guide programming, instruction, and intervention. Using evidence-based practices, consistent routines, and collaborative problem-solving, the program promotes growth in communication, regulation, adaptive functioning, academic engagement, social development, and independence across settings. LEAD values strong partnerships with families and multidisciplinary teams to support meaningful progress and help each student build the skills needed for greater success in school, at home, and in the community.
