Gifted and Talented

G/T Services

The Main Street School Gifted and Talented (G/T) program provides advanced curriculum and instruction for those students identified as gifted/talented following CDE guidelines.  Additionally, Main Street also provides enrichment services to students who have not yet met all of the state mandated identification criteria but are demonstrating strengths in specific content area(s).  Following district protocols, Main Street offers screening and evaluation processes for eligibility for G/T determination and designation as well.  Services and instruction are based on individual student need and can be presented in various ways (pull-out instruction on an individual or group basis or push-in services to the classroom).  Academic instruction occurs in the designated areas of giftedness with increased focus on math and language arts content.  In conjunction with academic instruction, students will also receive social/emotional support specific to the needs of Twice Exceptional students.
